At Karuna Hospital, our CSR initiatives focus on improving community health through free medical camps, awareness programs, and accessible care for underserved populations.
The Maya Daya Dialysis Clinic
A Compassionate Expansion of Care
Karuna Hospital is proud to announce the addition of the Maya Daya Dialysis Clinic, an important extension of our commitment to serving those in need with dignity and compassion. The clinic is a collaboration between Kopan Monastery’s Maya Daya Clinic and Karuna Hospital, bringing much-needed free dialysis services to patients with chronic kidney disease.
Originally established in 1992 at the foot of Kopan Hill to provide basic medical care for the local community, Maya Daya Clinic has been a trusted source of health services for thousands of patients — including local residents, monks, and nuns — at a time when medical care was scarce nearby.
With evolving healthcare needs and thanks to strong community support and leadership, the clinic has now expanded its services by partnering with Karuna Hospital to offer free dialysis treatment in a comfortable, modern facility. This expansion makes critical care accessible to those who previously struggled to afford ongoing treatment for kidney disease — a condition that can be life-threatening without regular dialysis.
This initiative reflects the shared belief of compassionate care for all — grounded in the values of service, community upliftment, and health equity. Patients who require dialysis can now receive this lifesaving therapy close to home, without the financial burden that can accompany long-term treatment.
As part of this collaboration, Karuna Hospital continues its mission to provide quality healthcare for all, expanding access to critical services for vulnerable communities and demonstrating a meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment towards health and wellbeing.
